I recently received a letter of opposition to my trademark approval from a company in London due to the word “Poetry” in my logo design (pictured above). I never realized that a single word like “Poetry” could be claimed exclusively.
Interestingly, I read in Outlook India that Kentucky Fried Chicken was denied exclusivity for the word “chicken.” I hope my trademark gets approved, as it is a combination of words and not just “Poetry” alone.
I purchased my logo design on Fiverr and filed my trademark application with the help of Trademark Engine. It has been a year since I submitted the application, and now I understand why the approval process with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) has taken so long.
