My family and I visited Washington D.C. this past Sunday to see the blossoming cheery trees around the Tidal Basin. They are so beautiful. However, I found another inspiration fro my poetry while walking around the area. I saw the beautiful Japanese Camellias.
The Japanese Camellia has several varieties and one of which is the Yuki-Tsubaki, which can be found in the mountains of Honshu facing the Sea of Japan.
According to 1800flowwrs.com, “The striking red camellia (Tsubaki), historically symbolize a Nobel death among Japanese warriors and Samurai. It also represents love.
A white camellia means waiting, white the yellow camellia conveys longing.
I hope you liked my poem and the few tidbits of information I shared about the beautiful Japanese Camellias.
