Did you know that Octopuses are one of the ultimate sacrificing mothers of the animal kingdom? Yes! They will protect and care for their eggs until they hatch, which usually takes as long as six months. The octopus moms will never leave their den to guard their eggs against predators. They would regularly blow water on their eggs to help oxygenate and prevent them from developing diseases caused by bacteria or algae. In return, they slowly waste away from starvation.
Human mothers are more fortunate that the octopus moms, because majority of us have good social support who are always ready to extend their helping hands if needed. We have our family, friends, and other members of the community to rely on.
