Did you know that the Bleeding Heart is a symbol of unconditional love? Yes! The poem I wrote was inspired by the Chinese legend of the bleeding hearts. A story of unconditional love.

According to the legend, a young maiden fell in love with a man who went to war. While waiting, she embroidered a purse which she hanged on the tree outside her window. The purses were so beautiful that it attracted the bees and the butterflies. The fairies turned the tree into a new kind of flowering plant, the bleeding heart.

It did not specified in the story of the young maiden’s lover returned from war, but her patience was rewarded by the fairies.

I hope you liked my short poem and the legend of the bleeding hearts.
