Whooping Cranes have loud call that can be heard several miles away. A pair makes aa unison call in the morning, at courtship, and to defend their territory. They stand from four feet to 5 feet tall and with a wing span of seven feet.
Habitat loss and hunting are the major cause of their population decline.
