This poem was written in honor of my daughter, Luzelle Jude.

It took me 18 years to finally accept her absence in my life. It was hard for me to express my grief. I held it inside for so long. I remember crying each time I thought about her. I know the pain will always linger, just as deep as my love for her.

The flower in the photo is one of the flowers in the bouquet that my youngest daughter gave me on her sister’s birthday.

Flaming Katy is also know as Christmas kalanchoe, Florist kalanchoe, and Madagascar widow’s thrill. It is a symbol of persistence, prosperity, wealth and eternal love.
