FIRECAT RESCUE LIVE! I am so happy to announce the launching of FIRECAT RESCUE on Amazon today.
FIRECAT RESCUE is a story about Valentina, a cat who wanted to be a member of the Fire Squad. The fire station is manned by male Dalmatians and Valentina did not see that as a hindrance to her dream of becoming a firefighter.
The story was written by Rhonda-Kay Gatlin and the illustrations were created by yours truly.
Rhonda-Kay Gatlin is a retired elementary school teacher and a published author. FIRECAT RECUE is her third published picture book.
I am honored to be picked by Rhonda-Kay to illustrate this empowering story that can help the children build a strong character.
I got to admit that this book took me a little longer than my other two picture books because illustrating a cat was quite a challenge for me. I am still learning in illustration and I am happy that I was able to complete this project. My grandkitty, Zuko was my inspiration for illustrating Valentina.
Did you know that Dalmatians worked side by side with the firefighters during 1700? Yes! The are the firefighters’ best friends.
