Did you know that only male Blue Whales can sing? Yes! Even though both male and female whales can produce what scientists named single-note calls, males seems to make more noises.

Scientists theorized the whale’s songs are used for attracting a mate and the other sounds are for communicating between the species.

The Blue Whales are the largest animals on the earth. They make the loudest test it has the lowest frequency sound ranging between 8 to 25 Hz.

Blue Whale’s population is less than 25,000 in the whole world compared to hundreds of thousands before the beginning of the 20th century.

The harpoon gun was invented in 1864 was used to kill the Blue Whales. Ship strikes, Orcas, water pollution and noise pollution are some of the reasons for the Blue Whale’s population decline.

The International Whaling Commission has been protecting this species since 1966 when they banned the hunting of the Blue Whales.

The Blue Whales help maintain the ocean’s healthy ecosystem by providing iron-rich waste that serves as a very important food for other marine life.

The Blue Whale’s songs reminded me of poetry. Some poetry were profound and hard to understand but they can be felt.
