Did you know that Carnation is the flower of the month for January? Yes it is!  Did you also know that Carnation’s Latin name, dianthus, means Divine flower? Yes, it is! Did you also know that in some parts of England, some species of Carnation are used to spice wine? Yes! I have read it in an article written by W.D. Holley’s History and Legends of Carnation. Did you also know that Carnation is a symbol of devotion and love? Yes! There’s a Christian belief that the very first Carnation bloomed on the soil where the tears of Mary dropped while Jesus Christ carried the cross. This is the reason why carnations became the official flower for mothers.

The pink Carnation is a symbol of heartfelt gratitude. The pick carnation in my poem is dedicated to all who supported me in my social media account including this website.

I am very grateful for your overwhelming support of my YouTube channel, for all the reviews of my picture books, Mona in a Mesh and Sleepless Maple, and for all the words of encouragement.
