It’s halfway through November, and the cold, dry air brings me chills. However, the beautiful chrysanthemum inspired me to share a poem with you, with the hope of giving you something to ponder as you sip a warm drink or spirits to warm your body and mind.

November drifts in;
the temperature falls,
and darkness lingers longer than the day.
The trees surrender their leaves,
the birds glide toward the south—
yet the chrysanthemum greets
the season with its vibrant color.

A gentle reminder
to share some warmth
through the quiet of fall.
You may admire its blossom
and let it soothe your sight;
you may taste its seeds
and feel its quiet healing.
There is cure in its petals,
resilience in its roots;
there is strength in their gathering,
and lessons to uncover apart from their fruits.
