RECONNECTING WITH THE HEART OF FLOURISH ~ A Special Journal Review

Yesterday, I finally had the chance to meet one of the most inspiring women I first connected with through social media. We had lost touch after I went on a hiatus from Instagram for more than a year. Back then, I knew her as an educator and a children’s book author, and I even featured one of her picture books, HyperKid, So They Say, on my YouTube channel. A few weeks ago, she reconnected with me through my website, and I am incredibly grateful for her persistence in finding a way to reach out again.

Aside from being an award-winning author, Ruth Fleury is also a consultant dedicated to improving early childhood literacy, as well as an educator, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker.

I was overwhelmed with joy to finally meet this amazing woman, who traveled all the way from New York with her family just to visit me. She gave me not only the gift of her presence, but also the opportunity to share my thoughts and emotions about her newly published work, Flourish Women’s Journal for Healing, Boundaries, and Love. It is a reflective, well-structured, inspiring, and empowering diary that every woman should have.

This beautifully crafted journal is more than just a place to write—it feels like a meaningful companion on a healing journey. From the very first pages, I could tell it was created with deep intention. It’s not only about self-expression, but also about healing and strengthening one’s values and character.

What stood out to me most was Ruth’s heartfelt dedication page, her words of wisdom, and the carefully chosen Bible verses. They felt deeply personal and encouraging, inspiring me to pause, reflect, and grow emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

I also fell in love with the journal’s design. The layout and illustrations are warm and inviting. The calming green color palette, paired with vibrant artwork, self-care ideas, wellness checklists, and thoughtful action plans, made the experience feel motivating rather than overwhelming. It encouraged me not just to write, but to reflect on the growth I could achieve as I built self-awareness and focused on my healing.

The monthly prompts were especially meaningful. They created space for me to explore different phases of my journey and better understand myself. That deeper understanding made it easier to embrace who I am and reflect on how I want to be seen and loved.

Overall, this journal feels like a gentle guide—supportive, inspiring, and beautifully designed for anyone seeking reflection, healing, and personal growth.

In exchange, I gave her a copy of my picture book, which she kindly promoted on her podcast. I also gifted her a painting I created of one of their wedding photos. It truly warmed my heart that she and her husband loved it.

Yesterday was a very special day—a celebration of reconnection, new friendship, new opportunities, shared positivity, and empowerment. It was also her son’s birthday, which made the visit even more memorable. I cannot fully express how grateful I am to her and her family for taking the time to visit me.
