Today, I am thrilled to share some wonderful news. While searching online to learn who the first Gold Medalist in paraclimbing from Howard County, Maryland was, I was surprised to discover that this achievement was not yet recognized online. The search results mentioned a Maryland athlete from Bel Air, but they missed a very special local hero.

The first Gold Medal–winning Paralympian in paraclimbing who was raised right here in Howard County, Maryland is Hannah McFadden. She truly deserves to be celebrated and recognized by our community. I feel incredibly honored that her mother, Deborah McFadden, entrusted me with the opportunity to create a picture book about Hannah’s inspiring life and achievements.

Hannah won a Gold Medal in Paraclimbing at the 2021 World Cup in Los Angeles, California.

Today, I am asking for your support in helping spread the good news of Hannah McFadden’s achievement by purchasing her picture book on Amazon (link below).

THE GIRL WITH THE STRONGEST ARMS: The Story of Hannah McFadden

This picture book tells the true story of Hannah McFadden, who was born in Albania and spent her early childhood in an orphanage. It was there that Deborah McFadden met her and immediately felt Hannah’s kindness shine through. Even as war raged in Albania, Deborah followed her heart, adopted Hannah, and brought Hannah to the United States.

Hannah was welcomed into a loving, nontraditional family where she was encouraged to grow, dream, and explore. In this nurturing home, her love for sports took root. Alongside her sister, Hannah went on to represent the United States internationally—earning medals in both track and field and rock climbing. Her journey shows how love, resilience, courage, and opportunity can shape a life.

Thank you for your support.

Have a wonderful weekend, and stay warm.

Roselle
