Did you know that there is a place called Narcissus Valley in Ukraine?
Yes! It is located in the Kireshi Chest district, Transcarpathian region. There is also an educational center within the valley called Narcissus Museum where the visitors can get the most comprehensive information about the flora and fauna of the Narcissus Valley, the history of the Daffodils’s conservation, the important people who made a great contribution towards its preservation, and everything you need to know about the biology and ecology of the Daffodils.
The Daffodils has three names, Narcissus is the whole genus name, Daffodils is the common name and Jonquil is a species name for a small group of Narcissus that has multiple smaller flowers in one stem.
It was thought that this flower was named Narcissus because of its poisonous bulb which is its defense against squirrels and deer.
Although in Greek mythology, Narcissus’ story is a tragedy, the flower brings hope to Spring in the the field of Botany,
As I was reading more about the Daffodils, I concluded that reflection is a gate to introspection. I hope that our reflection springs some beauty of goodwill and not a toxin that can cause us to be ill.
