Did you know that the Galapagos Penguins are second smallest penguin in the world? Yes! The first in rank is the Little Penguin from New Zealand.

Ninety percent of the Galapagos Penguin’s population can be found on Fernandina Island. They are listed as endangered species.

Climate change is the major cause of their population decline. Other causes include; habitat loss, loss of food supply, pollution, bycatch, diseases, predators, attack by domestic animals, volcanic activity, and harvesting of their oil.

I find it disturbing when I read how the penguins were killed for their oil.

Penguins are lovable creatures and they are one of the most loyal animals on earth.

I hope you enjoyed reading my poem.  Thank you so much for your support.
