The poem above was inspired by the National Bird of the Philippines, The Great Philippine Eagle also known as the Monkey-Eating Eagle.

Did you know that the Philippine Eagle also eats snakes, lizards, and other birds too? Yes! It is a bird of prey and they do eat other animals other than monkeys.

The Great Philippine Eagle is listed as one of the critically endangered species primarily because of the loss of their habitat. Most of their population can be found in the Mindanao region.

This bird species is monogamous. They hunt at night in pairs. One distracts the prey while the other one catches the prey from behind.

I hope you liked the poem and have a wonderful day!
